"Harvest Time" "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow." 1st Corinthians 3:6 NIV October is harvest time for many crops. However, a lot of work had to be done in order for those crops to be planted and cultivated before they could be harvested. In some cases even irrigation took place to provide for water in times of drought. Once the farmer has done all he can, he has to depend on God to give the increase. Lots of work, but still dependent upon God.
Let us remember it is time for us to harvest as well. After a very busy summer planting, cultivating, and watering seeds, we are seeing God give the increase in great and mighty ways. We were able to have three Vacation Bible Schools this Summer, two Student Life Camps, a great Revival, a True Love Waits Camp and a lot of one on one contact with lost and hurting individuals. Lots of work, however, a lot of rewards. We have been blessed to see eight people baptized since June 15th. There is no way of knowing this side of Heaven the overall impact of all these events. This has been awesome! God is truly at work. Even though we have seen this great harvest, there are many more that needs to be harvested. So, Praise God, and as you are praising Him, ask Him to give you strength, take a deep breath and give it your all. We are not finished, we are just beginning! We are told by Jesus; "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Luke 10:2 NIV That decribes us, we are His workers! Do not let up! We have to harvest and at the same time plant and water for another harvest to come. God is and will continue to give the increase if we are obedient to his calling. Continue to plant, cultivate and water during the harvest! To God be the Glory!
In Christ,
